Barbara Nollau

Ms. Nollau (formerly Mullendore) has 22 years executive experience and increasing responsibility in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry, including five years in Manufacturing/Production, 10 years in Quality Assurance and validation, and seven years in Information Technology. As an ASQ-Certified Quality Manager with experience working in both the pharmaceutical research and production arenas domestically and internationally, Barbara is a process-oriented strategic thinker and problem seeker/solver with extensive internal and external partnering and due diligence experience. Barbara has proven project and program management and leadership skills, with specific noteworthy successes in cross-functional, cross-geographical process integration and alignment, as well as technology implementations and associated organizational change management. Barbara has a broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, its challenges, and creative means for overcoming those challenges. Barbara focus is on cost effective, cross-functional approaches and risk management-based solutions.
Prior to joining Abbott, Barbara was an Executive Consultant on Quality Issues for Global Life Sciencesa and Director, Corporate Quality Systems for Watson Pharmaceuticals providing Quality Assurance direction for Corporate Quality Systems group which includes responsibility for corporate documentation, corporate computer systems quality assurance, policy making, and other corporate quality systems such as recalls, complaint handling and trending, and PDMA compliance. Also Global Quality Manager, Development IS, R&D at Astra Zeneca where she defined and coordinate Development IS quality management and compliance activities, across all R&D sites globally. Barbara also worked with Alpharma, Inc. and Micro Media Systems, Inc.
Barbara holds a degree in Communications from Cabrini College, has completed graduate work toward an M.Ed. at Penn State University and obtained a Certification in Pharmaceutical Engineering from California State University. Barbara is an ASQ-certified Quality Manager, is a member of PDA, ASQ, and ISPE. Barbara is a member of the GAMP Americas Steering Committee and is co-chair of the GAMP Americas R&D Special Interest Group. Barbara is also serving as a Commissioner on the ISPE Professional Certification Commission. She is a member of the Technology Advisory Board of LSIT, the Editorial Advisory Board of The Journal of Validation Technology. In addition Barbara has published numerous papers and presented extensively on technology quality and compliance; outsourcing and governance; supplier auditing; organizational change management and training; and related topics.
