Greg Horowitt

As the Executive Director of Global CONNECT, founded less than one year ago, Global CONNECT has grown under Greg's leadership to include members from England, Scotland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Greg's public speaking engagements include speeches on San Diego's innovation and technology strengths, and growing sustainable technology and life sciences businesses. In addition, he routinely sits on panels at regional technology events.

Since 2001 Greg has been a Director with UCSD CONNECT, and now serves as Interim Director while an Executive Search Committee seeks an Executive Director.

Greg moved down from the Bay Area in 2001, where he served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm. Prior to that, he was president and CEO of The Praetorian Group, a venture backed enterprise software company providing e-business solutions to law enforcement and public safety agencies across the country. For nearly 20 years before that, he was with Flying Cross by Fechheimer Uniforms, a Berkshire Hathaway company, where he finished his tenure as vice president of regional sales. He remains a principal at the consulting and sales management services firm Gregory Scott Associates of Alamo, Calif., and sits on the boards of a number of technology companies, both here and in Silicon Valley.

Greg holds bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and economics, with a minor in music performance, from UCSD.

Global CONNECT cultivates and maintains relationships with international regional development entities, technology and life sciences companies, universities, and research institutions that form the Global CONNECT network. This network offers San Diego companies and organizations partnering opportunities across national borders along with the tools and resources to accelerate the creation of local high-technology and life science enterprises.
