Dr. Michael R. Stapleton

Dr. Stapleton has more than 20 years experience in the field of scientific software and informatics. He was most recently Vice President of Global Marketing and eBusiness at Invitrogen (Nasdaq: IVGN) responsible for the industry-leading web, bioinformatics and eCommerce activities. Prior to Invitrogen, Dr. Stapleton spent 11 years at Accelrys (Nasdaq: ACCL). In particular, as Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible for launching Accelrys in 2001 as a result of the integration of Molecular Simulations, Synopsys, Oxford Molecular Group and Genetics Computer Group.

Dr. Stapleton has a Ph.D. in chemistry and has undertaken research at Cornell University and British Petroleum.

CambridgeSoft develops and markets life science enterprise solutions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical companies and scientific research organizations. Software products include enterprise, workgroup and desktop versions of Chem & Bio Office, including Chem & Bio Draw and E-Notebook, with knowledge management, chemical and biological informatics, and scientific database solutions.
